Since the end of the 1980’s, Volker Schneider has been responsible for more than 70 invited lectures, conferences, and seminars upon different enological issues in various countries on both sides of the Atlanctic Ocean.  Multi-day sensory seminars for wine producers and enologists are particular popular.  Working languages are French, English, Portuguese, Spanish, and German.

After 35 years of experience in fine wine making, quality control, and R&D, consulting and technical advice for various wineries in different countries keep on being one of the major activities. In the meantime, the world of winemaking has changed. In an environment where almost everybody regardless of qualification, background and references feels called to offer enological advice and with consultants going to outnumber producers, the signatory of these lines is not keen to pursue any career in the consulting business.  Verifiable scientific references and several decades of hands-on experience would make such ambitions simply superfluous.  That is to say that any advise is given only on an informal basis, after a good deal of coaxing, and in a harmonious and human environment.

Since 2011, Volker Schneider holds a lectureship in <Advanced Wine Chemistry> at Geisenheim University, Germany.
