Never hire someone who knows less than you do about what he’s hired to do (Malcolm Forbes).

Since the end of the 1980’s, Volker Schneider has been responsible for more than 100 invited lectures, conferences, and seminars upon different enological issues in various countries on both sides of the Atlanctic Ocean.  Multi-day sensory seminars for wine producers and enologists have been particularly popular. Working languages were French, English, Portuguese, Spanish, and German.

After more than 45 years of experience in commercial and experimental winemaking, quality control, R&D, consulting and technical advice for various wineries in different countries, I am generally no longer available for on-the-spot consultations. At the very least, this would require a great deal of persuasion. In an environment where almost everybody regardless of qualification, background and references feels called to offer enological advice and with consultants going to outnumber producers, I am not keen to continue any career in the consulting business.  Verifiable scientific references and several decades of hands-on experience would make such ambitions simply superfluous.  However, if you have specific questions, feel free to send me a message or samples.
